Castell Coch
Castell Coch is a detached house easily identifiable by its high-pitched roof and towering chimneys. Its land backs onto the fields in front of Carrog Farm Cottages. Acquired and refurbished ready for 2024, it now provides a spacious and comfortable holiday cottage for up to 9 people in 5 bedrooms full of character. High ceilings, spacious rooms and large windows to take advantage of the sea and garden views, this house is sure to be a hit. Boasting a huge cottage garden with loads of space and a hot tub, it is ideal for families and groups of friends. All your towels are provided and there is a travel cot and highchair if you need them. Central heating and 3 woodburners. We accept 2 well behaved dogs @ 25 pounds each. Short breaks are possible all year round.
Castell Coch is a 15 minute walk from the other cottages or a 5 minute drive so can be booked along with the cottages for a large family group of 27 if you want to holiday with your family whilst enjoying your own space.
GROUND FLOOR
Snug - a small sitting room greets you on arrival with woodburner and original fireplace cupboards. This former servants' kitchen provides a welcoming entrance to the house.
Kitchen - a light and well-equipped kitchen with 2 ovens, induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. A rustic farmhouse table seats up to 12 people and the tv and small breakfast bar are an added bonus.
Utility - an useful room with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, extra cupboard space and a second fridge freezer.
Shower room with sink and wc.
Sitting room 1 - a lovely light room with woodburner in its' quirky corner red brick fireplace, tv and settees.
Sitting room 2 - a cozy room again with woodburner, tv and settees.
FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom 1 - with ensuite shower room.
This room has plenty of space with its' king size bed and antique oak furniture.
Two windows give you the choice of a sea view or the garden.
Bedroom 2 - this muted yellow painted room has the original Victorian fireplace (not in use) and a mix of mahogany and oak furniture. The antique welsh blanket on the king size bed is in direct contrast with the smart tv on the wall!
Bedroom 3 - twin room again with original Victorian fireplace (not in use). The large window makes this a light and comfortable room.
Family shower room with large shower space.
Bedrooms 4 and 5 are down a couple of steps in the old servants quarters.
Bedroom 4 - a cosy room with 2 windows looking out onto the garden. A gorgeous king size iron bed painted in Farrow and Ball Charlotte's Locks.
Bedroom 5 - a single room with old wooden fireplace (not in use) and pewter coloured iron bed.
OUTDOORS
Huge enclosed garden with old established fruit trees and shrubs. This garden is full of surprises from the old 15 foot well (safely closed) and luxury hot tub. Gas BBQ and garden furniture. We also have a collection of resin native animals creating a wildlife hunt to keep the children occupied for an hour or so.
